Job Summary
Context
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Tableau Cloud Architect/Developer to lead their Tableau Cloud initiatives and the data migrations into Tableau Cloud. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and optimizing Tableau Cloud solutions to support business intelligence needs. Unlike Tableau CRM (formerly CRMA), Tableau Cloud requires distinct architectural expertise, especially in its integration with Salesforce and other enterprise systems. This position is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work model, with candidates required to work onsite three days per week.
This role reports directly into the Head of Data Governance. This person will work collaboratively with other lead Entperprise architects. Currently, the team under the Head of Data Governance includes developers focused on Power BI, with no dedicated Tableau personnel. Tableau Cloud is already set up with assistance from Salesforce and the client’s wider internal IT leadership team. The role will require a focus on maintaining and enhancing this setup. Exposure to data lakes and tools like Databricks is advantageous but not mandatory. This is an immmediate need for the client an candidates should demonstrate expertise in database-level checks, troubleshooting, and reporting.
Role
As a Data Tableau Cloud Architect/Developer, you will:
– Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of Tableau Cloud solutions.
– Manage and optimize data movement from Databricks to Tableau Cloud.
– Create and maintain advanced data visualizations, dashboards, and reports tailored to stakeholder needs.
– Perform database-level checks to ensure data accuracy and resolve issues with data availability.
– Integrate Tableau Cloud with Salesforce and other enterprise platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and connectivity.
– Develop custom reports and provide insights into Tableau Cloud capabilities, including the potential of using middleware integration tools like MuleSoft.
– Collaborate with the Head of Data Governance and other stakeholders to align Tableau solutions with business objectives.
– Must have and provide expertise on DevOps practices for migrating data and reports across environments into Tableau Cloud.
– Monitor and troubleshoot Tableau Cloud applications to maintain high performance and availability.
– Take a hands-on approach to development and deployment, avoiding delegation as this is the first and only Tableau expert on the team.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
– **Tableau Cloud Expertise:**
– Extensive experience with Tableau Cloud, including architecture, development, and deployment (7+ years of hands-on development experience).
– Strong understanding of Tableau Cloud’s architecture and its integration with Salesforce.
– Proficiency in creating and managing Tableau visualizations, dashboards, and custom reports.
– Ability to load, migrate, and manage data within Tableau Cloud.
– **Database Management:**
– Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
– Proven ability to perform database-level checks and troubleshoot data issues.
– Familiarity with data lakes and Databricks (preferred but not mandatory).
– While this is not a database developer role, having a solid database background will be highly beneficial for understanding data flows and optimizing performance.
– **Integration and DevOps:**
– Experience with integrating Tableau Cloud with middleware tools like MuleSoft.
– Proficiency in DevOps practices, including environment migrations and deployment pipelines.
**Soft Skills:**
– Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
– Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Tableau certification (Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Tableau Certified Associate Architect).
**Candidate Restrictions:**
– This role is strictly for Tableau Cloud expertise; candidates with Tableau CRM/CRMA experience will not be considered.
– Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York City and commit to a hybrid work model (3 days onsite per week).
