Context
Our client is undergoing a major digital transformation, adopting Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) for the first time. With a team of nearly 30 engineers spanning web, mobile, integrations, and architecture, they are investing heavily in Salesforce as a foundational part of their customer experience strategy.
A new dedicated Salesforce team is being formed within the Product organization: comprising a Product Manager, Salesforce Administrator, and Junior Developer. This hire will be the team’s most senior technical voice, helping to establish best practices, shape development standards, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and architecture.
Initially, this role will sit within the Product function but will work closely, and eventually align, with the broader Engineering organization under senior technical leadership.
Role
The Senior Salesforce Developer will serve as the technical lead within a small but growing Salesforce team. This is a hands-on development role that also carries significant influence in mentoring, solution design, and guiding the technical direction of Salesforce initiatives across the business.
You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions in Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC), leveraging Mulesoft, Copado, and other integrations. You’ll also help define how Salesforce interacts with the organization’s broader digital ecosystem – including web, mobile, and data systems.
In the first 60 days, you’ll:

  • Get up to speed on the current Salesforce architecture, development backlog, and foundational enhancements in progress.
  • Take ownership of small to medium-sized features such as workflow improvements, licensing configuration, and foundational system enhancements.
  • Mentor other engineers and junior team members while helping to define development best practices and governance.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and challenge legacy architectural decisions with well-reasoned alternatives.
  • Collaborate with the integration and architecture teams on initiatives such as Agentforce, Feedback Management, and exploring the potential of Data Cloud.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, is comfortable in lean and Agile environments, and enjoys collaborating across teams to bring order, clarity, and innovation to a rapidly evolving environment.
Requirements
Core Experience & Skills:

  • 5–8 years of Salesforce development experience, ideally with exposure to Financial Services Cloud (FSC).
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions using Apex, LWC, Flows, and integrations.
  • Experience working closely with Product teams in Agile environments—contributing to story definition, refinement, and testing processes.
  • Comfortable operating in a non-enterprise, small-team environment, wearing multiple hats and proactively identifying improvement areas.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce integrations, particularly with Mulesoft, and familiarity with Copado for CI/CD.
  • Ability to serve as a technical mentor, supporting less experienced developers and fostering a culture of curiosity and growth.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—able to work fluidly with cross-functional teams, including offshore partners.
  • Confident questioning existing technical decisions and offering thoughtful, well-reasoned alternatives to improve system health.

Nice to Haves:

  • Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer II, Service Cloud, FSC Specialist, etc.)
  • Prior experience in the financial services or member-based organization sector.
  • Experience liaising with offshore development partners.
