About the Client

Our client is a leading nonprofit organization that supports the reliability and security of the North American electric power system. The organization works closely with energy industry stakeholders to develop standards, guidance, and practices that help ensure the stability and resilience of the power grid.

The Opportunity

High Trail is seeking an AI Architect to help design and implement a Microsoft-based AI solution that can analyze large volumes of documents and comments, summarize key findings, and assist in drafting standards and related documentation.

This person will bring hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and enterprise Power Platform architecture. The ideal candidate understands how to ground AI-generated responses in trusted source material while ensuring the solution is secure, governed, and ready for production use.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-powered solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and related Microsoft technologies.

• Build workflows to analyze and summarize large volumes of comments, PDFs, and technical documentation.

• Develop grounded AI experiences that retrieve relevant source material and generate accurate, traceable responses and draft content.

• Apply RAG concepts and evaluate appropriate tools such as Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, SharePoint, and Dataverse.

• Use Power Automate to orchestrate document processing, workflow automation, and AI-assisted tasks.

• Establish and maintain governed Power Platform environments across development, testing, and production.

• Implement application lifecycle management (ALM), including solution deployment, environment variables, connection references, and appropriate release controls.

• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into a secure, scalable solution.

Required Experience

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enterprise AI or Microsoft Copilot solutions.

• Hands-on experience with Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and the Microsoft Power Platform.

• Strong understanding of RAG, AI grounding, knowledge retrieval, and reducing unsupported AI-generated responses.

• Experience working with large document repositories, PDFs, and unstructured text.

• Experience establishing Power Platform governance and managing development, test, and production environments.

• Knowledge of Microsoft security, permissions, integrations, and deployment best practices.

• Ability to communicate technical architecture and implementation decisions to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, SharePoint, Dataverse, or Microsoft document processing services.

• Experience implementing enterprise AI solutions involving technical standards, policies, procedures, or regulatory documentation.

• Experience building repeatable, maintainable solutions with appropriate monitoring, security, and governance.

The successful architect will help deliver a practical, well-governed AI solution that can summarize large volumes of source material, support the drafting of standards, and provide responses grounded in the underlying documentation. They will also establish the environment management and deployment practices needed to move the solution from development into production.
