Job Summary

Senior Salesforce Developer (Financial Services Cloud)
Position Overview

Our banking client in New York is seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to join its in-house Salesforce team as the program enters phase two of its Financial Services Cloud implementation. This is a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity based in Midtown Manhattan.
Title: Senior Salesforce Developer
Client: Banking client in New York
Engagement: 6-month contract-to-hire
Location: Park Avenue, Midtown Manhattan, New York, NY
Schedule: On site Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

About the Opportunity
This role will become the technical owner of the client’s Salesforce Financial Services Cloud platform. The client is moving into phase two of an existing implementation, and its current implementation partner will transition off the program by the start of the new year.
In the first months, the Senior Salesforce Developer will work closely with the implementation partner, the client’s Salesforce Architect and an existing Senior Developer to absorb the full technical and functional knowledge of the platform. Once the partner transition is complete, this person will lead day-to-day development and delivery for phase two and beyond.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on developer who wants real ownership, direct access to business stakeholders and a clear path to a permanent role within a respected financial institution.

Key Responsibilities
Knowledge transfer and transition
Partner with the outgoing implementation partner to absorb the platform’s design, configuration, custom code and integration landscape
Review existing documentation, identify gaps and create clear technical documentation the internal team can rely on long term
Work alongside the client’s Salesforce Architect and Senior Developer to establish standards, ownership and support processes after the partner exits
Development and delivery
Design, build and maintain custom solutions in Apex, including classes, triggers, batch and scheduled jobs, and asynchronous processing
Develop modern, reusable user interfaces using Lightning Web Components
Configure and extend Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, including its data model for households, financial accounts, relationships and related objects
Design and support integrations between Salesforce and core banking and enterprise systems using MuleSoft and REST and SOAP APIs
Support and enhance Marketing Cloud capabilities, including data flows between Marketing Cloud and Sales or Service Cloud
Follow and enforce development best practices, including bulkification, governor limit management, test coverage, code reviews and secure coding
Manage deployments and releases across environments using version control and CI/CD tooling
Leadership and stakeholder engagement
Serve as the lead technical resource for phase two once the partner transition is complete
Meet regularly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions and set clear expectations
Present technical options and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences
Contribute to sprint planning, estimation and backlog prioritization within an Agile delivery model
Mentor other developers and promote a culture of quality and collaboration

Required Qualifications
7 or more years of Salesforce development experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead developer role
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, ideally within banking, wealth management or another regulated financial services environment
Expert-level proficiency in Apex, triggers, SOQL and SOSL, including trigger frameworks and asynchronous Apex
Strong experience building Lightning Web Components, with working knowledge of Aura components
Proven experience designing and supporting integrations using MuleSoft, REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events and named credentials
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Journey Builder, Email Studio, AMPscript or SQL queries, and Marketing Cloud Connect
Solid understanding of Salesforce security, sharing and visibility models, especially as they apply to sensitive financial data
Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools such as Salesforce DX, Copado, Gearset or similar
Track record of taking ownership of a Salesforce org, including support, enhancements and release management
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I and II, Financial Services Cloud Accredited Professional, Marketing Cloud Developer or MuleSoft Developer
Experience with OmniStudio (FlexCards, OmniScripts, Integration Procedures)
Prior experience leading or receiving a knowledge transfer from a systems integrator or implementation partner
Familiarity with banking compliance and data privacy requirements, including GLBA, SOX and KYC/AML processes
Experience with Salesforce Shield, Data Cloud or Experience Cloud

Professional Skills
Highly collaborative, with a genuine interest in learning from partners and teammates during the transition period
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
Confident meeting with business stakeholders, leading working sessions and managing expectations
Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the judgment to make sound technical decisions independently
Organized and detail-oriented, able to balance knowledge transfer, active development and support priorities
